New Life Stories is a non-profit organisation that aims to prevent intergenerational incarceration*.

At New Life Stories, we understand that imprisonment affects not just the individual but their entire family. We are dedicated to supporting entire families as they navigate the challenges that arise when a loved one is in prison.

Through systemic practice, we address the needs of the incarcerated, their children, and family members to ensure they can succeed and thrive independently.

*a cycle where family members experience repeated involvement in the criminal justice system across generations.

Children with incarcerated parents are at increased risk for abuse of drugs and alcohol, engaging in antisocial behaviour, dropping out of school or experiencing a decline in school work as well as having high levels of truancy, aggression, and disruptive behaviours, compared to other children.
